Our partnership has a wide range of skills and experience and we are all working together to make RESET a success. RESET (Resettlement, Education, Support, Employment and Training) is a national partnership led by Rainer, the young people's charity - and is funded by a combination of the EQUAL stream of the European Social Fund and further funds from partners. We also work in collaboration with an EQUAL project in Spain. We want to:
- Re-engineer the current resettlement process, which saw 68.3% of young people sentenced to custody in 2002 reconvicted within two years*
- Bring agencies together to find workable and sustainable solutions
- Influence future policy and practice
- Provide tools and models that can drive effective practice
- Bridge gaps between the different agencies so that young offenders released from custody are engaged with support services within the first few weeks.
