Our Vision

A coordinated multi-agency response is one of the keys to effective resettlement. We’re all working together with the same vision to:

  • Reduce reoffending levels amongst juveniles and young adult offenders, make a positive difference to their lives and create stronger communities

  • Improve provision for resettlement of young offenders throughout the country

  • Influence key Government departments to promote effective resettlement and adopt best practice

  • Use each other’s experience to achieve our vision

As detailed in the Mainstreaming Partnership Agreement there are six specific objectives:

  1. The production of a national resettlement strategy for juveniles
  2. Production of a social franchise wraparound resettlement model for imprisoned juveniles aged 15 – 18 and its applicability to the juvenile female and young adult estate
  3. Establishment of national standards for resettlement mentoring
  4. Implementation of a practice management tool
  5. The roll out of a social support model that engages offenders with their families
  6. Development of a flexible accommodation support model for juveniles on release from custody
