'And', written by Fabian Spencer
"Though we be young, these feelings here are old.
We seek a remedy to stop the pain.
From birth til now how often I've been told
To be seen and not heard: 'Tis such a shame.
I have so many thoughts within my head.
I try to speak, but those in charge won't hear.
I feel, although I'm living, I am dead
And in my mind this burden I must bear.
I wish someone would listen to my cries
And answer with an understanding voice.
For my mistakes I've always paid the price.
And know: I'm not born poor through any choice.
I hope that through my words people can see
What life's like to be young, and to be me."
